“Climb Ev’ry Mountain”

živijo!

This week we really saw a lot of the countryside, and it was beautiful!  Like something right out of “The Sound of Music”.  On the 8th of June we will be having somewhat of an open house sacrament meeting.  We are calling it “Come and See”.  It sounds cooler in Slovenian.  Anyway, we have been asked to visit every member in our area and personally invite them to come.  Which is great, but also is tough sometimes, since we don’t have a car.  Thank goodness for the senior couple.  They were able to drive us up the hills and in the tiny little streets on the mountains to find the lost sheep.  I have to admit that at times I felt like we were going to die because the car started going backwards when it was in first gear, but we made it where we needed to go and it was great.  Just think of Switzerland, except smaller mountains and open fields with wildflowers everywhere.  You seriously can’t make this stuff up.

We also saw miracles this week.  We were able to really be straight forward with one of our investigators, right before she left on a trip with her mom.  We had a real conversation about fear and finding yourself.  It is crazy how much the people here are similar to people I know, and also how scared people are to act in faith.  I didn’t realize how some of us are just taken along in the ride of life, instead of being strong and making conscientious decisions that show trust in God’s eternal promises.  I think the conversation really touched her, because after, she texted us that she wanted us to pray for her while she was gone.  We were also able to meet with a couple of inactive members who agreed to come on the 8th.  That was so awesome.  We also helped an inactive member become an active missionary in the branch.  It is great to see the changes that people are making.

Funny story: while we were at an inactive member’s house, she invited us to drink this thing called kefir.  Supposedly it is really healthy for you, but it is also a living organism that has many different “cultures”.  It tastes like carbonated milk / yogurt consistency liquid cottage cheese.  It was interesting to say the least.  My companion and I also ordered a pizza on a day where we didn’t have time to get anything else.  It was good, but after eating it we didn’t feel so good.  Pizza overload!  Haha…but it was fun.

This next week is going to be pretty crazy because we have a Zone Conference, President interviews, and an exchange…plus the 8th.  I can feel this country starting to wake up though…and it’s amazing!  People are starting to come and listen to the truth of the gospel, and I can see the faith of the missionaries and the members building together!  As long as we continue to push forward with unwavering faith I know that God will continue to bless us!  I can feel God in this work.  I would invite you this week to reevaluate your faith and desire for your branch or ward to grow, and then follow the promptings you receive from the Spirit telling you that you can do it!

I hope you have a wonderful week!
